Aide Jobs description

A physical therapy aide is a person who has attended a physical therapist professional education program or a physical therapist assistant education programme and who is employed in a physical therapy clinical setting where such employment is not a part of the formal educational curriculum.
A physical therapy aide assists in therapy sessions and is supervised either by the physical therapist or the physical therapy assistant. A physical therapy aide provides support services. A physical therapy aide should ensure cleanliness in the area of treatment and should keep the equipments ready prior to a session. The person should be ready with aides like wheel chair for the patients, and assist them with walkers and crutches. Responsibilities include lifting and moving the patients to and from the area of treatment. The job of a physical therapy aide also consists of some non-patient duties like phone communication, completing insurance forms and other paperwork and performing certain clerical duties at the physical therapist’s clinic. A physical therapy aide prior to attending the programme mentioned above should possess at least a high school degree.
